Mission, Vision and Values
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to JUST A WORD Ministries, Inc. (JAW).
We incorporated in March 2006 so compared to other non-profits we are quite a young organization. Our overall goal is to provide outreach services and programs to the disadvantaged, underserved and undervalued youth populations.
Our mission since 2009 has been focused on At-Risk teens. We provide life-skills curriculum, mentoring, job and career resources, Christian Teen Coaching and Bible Studies to incarcerated youth inside Juvenile Hall. A portion of these services are delivered also to inner city high schools as well as high school campuses for pregnant teen moms. We strongly believe these populations are worth our attention and time. They matter!
Our vision is inspired and was birthed out of a longing to support and serve young people and At-Risk teens, starting at home in Los Angeles, but with the goal of reaching troubled teens across America.
Zig Zigler once said, “The way you see them is the way you treat them and the way you treat them is often times the way they become.” Just A Word Ministries, Inc. embraces this belief and purposely treats At-Risk and incarcerated teens as ladies and gentleman throughout the programs and services we offer. We see them for who they can ‘become’. No profanity is allowed in any of the classes. We have a 99% clean-mouth success rate. The program’s motto is “Show off your brilliance, not your ignorance.”
JUST A WORD of encouragement and love is key for troubled teens believing in themselves, striving for excellence and becoming all God’s called them to be; Victorious both in life and in spirit.
